A Bit About Blackett

The suburb has its name from George Forster Blackett, Superintendent of the Government Cattle Station. It is located 48 kilometres west of the Sydney CBD, in the local government area of the City of Blacktown. It is a residential suburb with less commercial activities. There were around 3,500 people in Blackett. The large numbers of freestanding fibro houses and extensive terrace-style complexes were gradually replaced by the privately built, modern homes.
