On the southern banks of the Georges River, Como is located 27 kilometres south of the Sydney CBD in the local government area of the Sutherland Shire. The suburb is securely bounded to the west by the Woronora River and has shorelines Bonnet Bay, Scylla Bay and Carina Bay across the suburb. Before the suburb got its name as Como, it was called Woronora. The people are serviced by both roadways using bus and railways.
